The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) has given the
go-ahead for the Shannon Liquefied Natural Gas terminal in
Tarbert, Co. Kerry to start work on a new gas pipeline linking
Kerry with Limerick and creating around 200 new jobs in the
process.
The 26km pipeline will connect the proposed Shannon
LNG terminal at Kilcolgan Lower, Tarbert to the national
gas grid west of Foynes.
The new pipeline will also bring gas to Co. Kerry for the
first time.
