How many drivers understand car air conditioning?

 

Most modern cars have air conditioning as a standard feature. Such air conditioning needs to be powered - and, therefore, leads to greater use of fuel per kilometre driven.

However, how many drivers know this? Indeed, how much does the average driver understand about car air conditioning systems and their environmental impact? Many just get in the car and, if it’s a hot day, just turn on the ‘aircon’.

T&E’s German members VCD and DUH are looking to find out more about drivers’ attitudes to car air conditioning systems.
