| A fledgling recycling company has
created 17 jobs in Co Armagh, providing proof that some sectors
are still able to thrive despite the recession.
Envirogreen Recycling has created 12 new jobs since
starting up in August in administrative, ICT, manual, driving
and managerial roles and plans to add a further five staff
before the end of March.
It has also set itself a challenging target - to become
Ireland’s first carbon neutral recycling company by 2011.
The company has attributed its rapid expansion to its service
delivery to commercial customers throughout Ireland. It has
already attracted a number of high profile clients and recently
added several Super Valu outlets to its portfolio.
Managing director Conor Guy said ongoing feedback, support,
service delivery and top prices paid for recyclables have
been a major attraction. “We have undertaken significant research
with companies throughout Ireland and a major finding was
the lack of a reliable service for commercial customers from
our competitors,” he said.
Mr Guy said Envirogreen Recycling has already introduced
energy and water saving initiatives at its licensed facility
in Co Armagh with more planned.
Eric Randall, director of Bryson Recycling, welcomed the
introduction of Envirogreen Recycling as "highly exciting
and great to see a company driven by the right ethos".
Tapping into the ‘Green Economy’ through investment
in renewable energy and sustainable businesses is seen as
one of the key ways that Northern Ireland can wean itself
of reliance on the public sector in coming years.
