Draft Irish Standard - I.S. 440 'Timber frame dwellings'
- is being submitted to public enquiry for a period from 21
July, 2008 to 26 September, 2008.
This draft standard will be of interest to organisations
and companies engaged in the design, manufacture and site
construction of factory-made timber frame dwellings. It will
also be of interest to subcontractors, following-on trades
such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, construction
industry associations, professional bodies and civil/construction
engineering departments in third-level colleges.
This Irish Standard was developed by the NSAI, Timber Standards
Consultative Committee, Task Group 3 'Timber frame construction'
- with technical assistance from Building Research Establishment
(BRE), UK. Financial support was provided by the Department
of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and the Irish
Timber Frame Manufacturers Association.
Technical and/or editorial comments should be submitted using
the electronic comment form provided and returned to NSAI
before 26 September, 2008. All comments received by NSAI will
be reviewed following the period of public enquiry.
