A new website - www.irishplastics.com - has recently been
launched.
The website operates a plastic recyclables exchange service,
where suppliers and buyers can post a notice on the site to
indicate recycled plastics available for sale or plastics
wanted.
This service is a great way of linking purchasers and suppliers
of recycled plastics within Ireland and will promote the use
of Irish recyclables within the country. Posting materials
on the site is a free service.
A further aspect of the irishplastics.com
is a leasing programme for plastic recycling equipment.
Equipment can be trialled - for a fee - to determine if a
process or specific equipment will work in a facility. This
eliminates the need to purchase or lease equipment at high
cost and allows companies to test machinery for suitability
without the concern of high capital investment.
As financing is currently a critical issue for businesses,
this scheme is a route to investigating process improvements
by enabling reasonably priced access to equipment.
