Chambers Ireland has announced details of the shortlist for
the 2010 Excellence in Local Government Awards, held in association
with the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
Announcing the shortlist, Ian Talbot, Chief Executive, Chambers
Ireland said - “These awards provide a unique forum to showcase
the symbiotic relationships that exist between businesses,
chambers and local authorities.
"In these challenging times, all sectors must operate
on a cost-effective basis while providing excellent services.
We are delighted to be able to use these awards to showcase
those local authorities providing optimal services to their
stakeholders.”
The Awards will take place on Thursday, 28th October in the
Burlington Hotel Dublin. Awards will be presented across categories
including - Supporting Active Communities; Festival of the
Year; Strategic Water Initiative; Sports Development and Local
Authority Economic Efficiencies.
Awards will also be presented to the City/County Council
of the Year and the Town/Borough Council of the Year.
