TOBIN Consulting Engineers has decided to pursue accreditation
to ISO 14001 and the company is, currently, working towards
this goal.
ISO 14001 is an Environmental Management System (EMS) that
helps organisations minimise how their operations negatively
affect the environment.
In order to achieve accreditation, TOBIN Consulting Engineers
have implemented environmentally-friendly policies throughout
the company's six offices. These wide-ranging policies involve
all TOBIN employees in contributing towards the development
and implementation of the policies throughout the organisation.
All of the policies are based on the fundamental principle
of 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' where possible.
An in-depth audit of the company's offices also identified
where best practices already existed within the organisation
- and these were then implemented throughout all offices.
TOBIN has developed policies based both on reducing the company's
carbon footprint and on recycling.
