Friends Provident publishes Corporate Responsibility Report 2007

Friends Provident has just published a Corporate Responsibility Review and a more detailed online Corporate Responsibility Performance Report 07 - Living Corporate Responsibility.

The printed CR Review explores the material issues facing the business - combining in-depth articles for the core strategic issues of trust and confidence, responsible investment and financial capability, with summaries of the business operating issues which are covered in more detail in the online report.

The online Performance Report 07 describes progress during the year, provides full performance data and outlines targets. Friends Provident has developed this new approach to CR reporting in response to feedback from key stakeholders.

The reports detail Friends Provident's long-standing commitment to operating a responsible business, including details of how it has -

  • maintained its market leadership position in the responsible investment market - offering new specific climate change funds
  • developed the link with the Life Academy to provide pre-retirement workshops for Friends Provident group pension scheme clients and provided financial capability online tools through the e-learn site
  • won a second IVCA Clarion award for effective communications (Summary CR Report 06)
  • helped develop ClimateWise - the insurance sector's response to climate change - and
  • encouraged over 20% of employees to participate in the new employee-led 'Friends in the community' programme.
