The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health - Ireland
Branch - is holding a free evening seminar open to all at
the West County Hotel, Ennis, Co. Clare on Tuesday 13, May
2008 at 19:00.
Topics covered are the new EU REACH Regulation and GHS -
the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling
of Chemicals. The programme will be of interest to a wide
range of personnel - particularly those working in industry
sectors that produce chemical substances and/or compounds
or that use chemicals within products.

Blaithin Tarpey, Senior Inspector, Health and Safety Authority
Blaithin has been actively involved in the negotiation of
REACH at EU level and in the development of technical guidance
to support REACH through the Commission�s Interim Strategy
GHS � an introduction
Tom Lowry, Enterprise Ireland
Tom is an Environmental Chemist and Occupational Hygienist
with Enterprise Ireland, working in their Shannon laboratories.
He is currently involved in providing information on EU Chemical
Legislation - including REACH and GHS - to client companies
of Enterprise Ireland.
Q & A
The seminar will close with a Q&A session during which
the speakers will be available to answer questions on REACH
and GHS.
