Electronics firm LG has launched a new kind of oven
that could save time when you're cooking the Christmas
dinner - as well as save energy.
The SolarDOM MP9483SL is a small oven that uses
radiant heat and halogen light in order to cook food
more quickly, meaning that you have more time to put
your feet up.

It also features a round cavity that makes sure the heat
is distributed evenly.
Because food is ready sooner, the oven is more energy efficient
than most, making it a good choice for environmentally aware
cooks. The oven costs around �350.
Other ways to save energy in the home include -
- turning down the thermostat by one degree
- not over-filling the kettle - and
- making sure that the TV and other appliances are not
left on standby.
