Training requirements - a total solution

SQT Training Ltd - est. 1989 - offers an extensive range of high-quality Environmental Training courses, presented by TMS Consultancy Ltd. TMS bring to every course, not only the latest environmental issues facing companies, but years of solid hands-on experience gained from a wide variety of industries.

TMS Consultancy is accredited to ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001. They have assisted a large number of companies in achieving registration to these standards.

Following the introduction of ISO 14001:2004, most organisations will find that they need to adjust their environmental management system. As of May this year, only the new version of the standard will be used in audits - and, in less than twelve months, any certificates issued in respect of ISO 14001:1996 will be invalid. This issue is being addressed by SQT Training in a half-day - ISO 14001:2004 Overview - course which will be held in October.

The course is aimed specifically at individuals already familiar with ISO 14001:1996 - and at organisations accredited to that standard. The course will enable participants to evaluate and modify their existing ISO 14001 certified environmental management systems in order to comply with ISO 14001:2004 and to understand the detailed implications and general thrust of the changes to the new ISO 14001 standard.

All SQT Environmental courses now reflect the new ISO 14001 standard. Among the existing courses on offer, is the very popular 5 day Environmental Auditing course - both Foundation and Advanced level. The auditing courses are extremely well designed, very comprehensive and are IEMA (The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) approved. In addition, the courses include a live audit, which proves an invaluable experience to delegates.

One course which has proved extremely popular is 'Energy Management / Auditing' - which focuses on the issues surrounding energy management in buildings. This issue is increasingly important for companies from both a financial and environmental perspective - with factors such as registration, risk management and environmental responsibility to consider.

Another course which has attracted considerable interest is 'ATEX Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2003)' course - which covers the requirement to conduct risk assessments on explosive atmospheres containing solvents and/or dust.

All of these courses are available in the SQT July - December Course Calendar, which has just been released (copies available from SQT on request). All public Environmental courses can also be run on-site and tailored to the client's specific needs.
