The UK has announced an ambitious new carbon target
for the early 2030s, allaying fears that the climate
goal would be a casualty of the EU referendum.
The Science Based Targets initiative,
which aims to persuade companies to set emissions
reductions targets in line with keeping global warming
to well below two degrees, now has more than 168
signatories, its organisers have announced.

periods of poor air quality, under proposals announced
by the capital's new Mayor Sadiq Khan.
